The BlogWorldExpo is being held in Las Vegas in November and notable speakers include TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington. I won’t be attending, despite an invite to attend via Facebook from some one I’ve always held in high regard Jim Kukral. The economics of making a Las Vegas trip doesn’t add up without subsidy, given the $2.6k trans pacific flight, then the accommodation etc.
I’ve had some private discussions with the organizers before about the conference, and I’m certain that Michael will be providing good coverage of it, which is why I’m somewhat dismayed to note that they are spamming bloggers in an attempt to get people to attend.

Perhaps what’s even more bizarre about the above email is that they’ve used the name of a blog post “Matt Price has Brain Tumors” I wrote on my personal blog as my blogs title: is it that hard to get spam right?
I wonder what Arianna Huffington, Hugh Hewitt, Om Malik, Matt Mullenweg, Leo Laporte, Shel Israel, Michael Yon and Will Leitch think about their names being used in a spam campaign, let alone our own Michael Arrington.
I’ve emailed Brian Warren for comment and I’m yet to receive a response. Here’s hoping what sounds like a good conference isn’t totally sullied by the dirty hand of a spam campaign.
